ARB
The Architects Registration Board (ARB) is the statutory regulator ensuring good professional standards are consistently maintained for the benefit of the public. The ARB publishes a code which architects must follow and requires appropriate insurance. All architects within the practice are registered with the ARB and are subject to that code. Anyone can make a complaint to the ARB if they believe an architect has not met the standards of the code, or if they believe someone is claiming to be an architect when not registerd. RIBA
The Royal Institute of British Architects, established by royal charter, is a global professional membership body promoting excellence in architecture with a strong ethical and environmental agenda. The RIBA has a code of practice requiring high professional and ethical standards and attention to social and environmental impact of the work of architects. The code can be read here RIBA. Anyone can complain to the RIBA if they believe a member has not met the standards of the profession.
